Biography
Vassiliki Athena Vayenou (b. Athens, 1976) studied Art History at Virginia Commonwealth University, Queens College (B.A, 1999) and Hunter College in New York. She received her M.A from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London with a Scholarship from the “Stavros S. Niarchos Foundation” (2001-02).
She has collaborated with the Bronx Art Space, the Cyclades Art Gallery, FLUSS NÖ Initiative für Foto-und Medienkunst, the Kappatos Gallery, the Potential Project and Deree-The American College of Greece among others and has written catalogue texts for exhibitions at the MOMus-Museum of Modern Art-Costakis Collection, the Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art and the Byzantine and Christian Museum Athens. She has curated exhibitions in the USA, Greece, Germany, Austria, Norway, Cyprus and Belgium and has written articles for artists and exhibition catalogues. She writes for the online arts magazine culturenow.gr.
She is a member of AICA Hellas, the Greek section of the International Association of Art Critics. She lives in Berlin and Athens.
